Within Temptation - And We Run ft. Xzibit (official music video)

More and more relevant in 2026. Choose freedom over anything.

after all this years, it's never lost its magic. still sooo good! love it

Anyone still beating to this drum in 2026?!

who's here in 2026?

2025 anyone?

June, 2024. I'm still running.

This song is my anthem for this year. I’ve overcome so much in my life, this is my moment to shine and live life to the fullest. Thank you Xzibit and Within Temptation for this masterpiece.

the fact symphonic metal and rap came together in such harmony, as two seperate artists who respect each other is beautiful… like no one should complain. Its a collide of two different expressions from the heart and soul.

This song is a masterpiece. The blending of genres is what makes it so iconic.

I...am surprised that I discovered this 7 years after it got released. This is amazing.. reminds me of my teenage years.

For about 6 years, this song has touched me on a personal level, for many reasons. Thank you, X and Within temptation

I'm 61 years old and thank God I have a 31 year old son who loves great music like this lol.

2021 And this song is more alive 🎧 then ever. 😆 🔥🧘🏽‍♂️🔥

Still can't believe how good this song is...years later!

how the hell have i not found this until now. Xzibit works so well with Within Temptation. Bravo guys. great song.

Невероятный симбиоз рока и рэпа. Две стихии сплелись в одно целое. Это еще раз показывает, что творчество одно на всех и мы едины в чувствах.

This song has gotten me through some of the worst moments in my life. I will love it forever

6 years ago I was sceptical about a collaboration between WT and Xzibit. Now, this turns out to be the most memorable song from the entire album

I had no expectations cause I had no idea of what to expect, but this just made me chocked for how good it is!

" and we runn" this chorus gave me goosebumps

And We Run (feat. Xzibit)

It burns into your heart the darkness that you fear
You were never free and you never realized
And love is a word you never heard
Your heart ain't cold, 'cause it burns
A desire to leave the mire

Take your breath 'till nothing's left
Scars of life upon your chest
And I know wherever it goes

And we run, with a lonely hearts
And we run, for this killing love
And we run, 'till the heavens above
Yeah we run, running in the dark
And we run, 'till we fall apart
And we run, 'till the heavens above

Don't blink, you'll miss it
Lift up your head
We gotta get gone
Yeah, we outta here
Don't blink, you'll miss it
Lift up your head
Too late, we gone
Yeah, we outta here

And we run, with a lonely heart
And we run, for this killing love
And we long for a heavenly heart

I'ma break these chains, run thru the rain
Never look back, never quit, work thru the pain
This blood in my veins runs cold
When I think I'll never be the same, but I never lose hope
This is my time now, no time for tears
Celebrate, put it in the air right now
Never back down
You could never wear my crown 'cause it weighs too much
And I crush every mothafuckin thing I touch
This is love, I've never loved so much
Get involved, make the world stand up
Give my life before I ever give up
Name in lights, you lost all my trust
Now it's time to face all of us
Get in line 'cause they're calling us
And it feels so marvelous
Just take my hand and run

And we run, with a lonely hearts
And we run, for this killing love
And we run, 'till the heavens above
Yeah we run, running in the dark
And we run, 'till we fall apart
And we run, 'till the heavens above

Don't blink, you'll miss it
Lift up your head
We gotta get gone
Yeah, we outta here
Don't blink, you'll miss it
Lift up your head
Too late, we gone
Yeah, we outta here

And we run, with a lonely heart
And we run, for this killing love
And we long for a heavenly heart

Don't blink, you'll miss it
Lift up your head
We gotta get gone
Yeah, we outta here
Don't blink, you'll miss it
Lift up your head
Too late, we gone
Yeah, we outta here
E Corremos (part. Xzibit)

E corremos, corremos no escuro
E corremos até desmoronarmos
E corremos até o paraíso

Não pisque ou você vai perder
Levante sua cabeça
Temos que ir embora
Sim, sair daqui
Não pisque ou você vai perder
Levante sua cabeça
Tarde demais, nós já fomos embora
Sim, sair daqui

Nunca desista
Você nunca poderia usar a minha coroa porque pesa muito
E eu destruo tudo que toco
Isto é amor, nunca amei tanto
Envolva-se, faça o mundo levantar
Dar minha vida, antes de desistir
Famosão, você perdeu toda a minha confiança
Agora é hora de enfrentar todos nós
Entre na fila pois estão nos chamando
E é tão maravilhoso
Apenas pegue minha mão e corra

E corremos com um coração solitário
E corremos por este amor mortal
E corremos até o paraíso acima
E corremos, e corremos no escuro
E corremos até desmoronarmos
E corremos para o paraíso

Não pisque ou você vai perder
Levante sua cabeça
Temos que ir embora
Sim, sair daqui
Não pisque ou você vai perder
Levante sua cabeça
Tarde demais, nós já fomos embora
Sim, sair daqui

E corremos com um coração solitário
E corremos por este amor mortal
E ansiamos por um coração celestial

Não pisque ou você vai perder
Levante sua cabeça
Temos que ir embora
Sim, sair daqui
Não pisque ou você vai perder
Levante sua cabeça
Tarde demais, nós já fomos embora
Sim, sair daqui

Alex Hefner brought me here

I cannot believe I have never heard of this til now

This is "The Beaty and the Beast" in its whole glory.

2020! Happy New Year.👼
Is there sameone?😶

I'd love to hear more Symphonic Rap-metal songs.

Mad respect to Xzibit for stepping into our lane and doing it well, glad to have you join!

It’s unbelievable how they manage to combine rap and symphonic metal and produce such a great song out of it

This song could be a theme for a amazing futuristic movie

Pimp my symphonic metal.

Loving the Metal and Rap collab. Honestly would love to see more of it.

this song: faith in humanity restored!

I don't know why rap isn't always done with metal guitar, this is awesome

Yo dawg, I heard you like rap, so i put rap in your metal, so you can listen to rap while you listen to metal

Funny Fact:
When Within Temptation asked Xzibit about doing this song together he just thought:
Who the hell is "Within Temptation"?
When he found out, he couldnt imagine, how Rap and Metal should worked out together, but he tried anyway and he was very pleased by the outcome.

WTF...
I never knew that my favorite Symphonic band and favorite rapper crossed paths...
Talk about "when worlds collide"...

I dont like rap that much, but this combination is awesome

The best part of this is that Xzibit fits so perfect

did not expect Xzibit to be in a band like this and I love his part

More important, xhibit and within temptation would have never known the possibilities if they never took time to reach out to each other.

This song is what I listen to when I feel like I'm hopeless. So beautiful, words are so strong. ❤

Yo dawg, we heard you like rap AND metal.

Honestly, I thought this will be a weird collaboration. But it is definitely *NOT*.
It is a great song, especially for the morning. <3

Nice quote of Mandela by the way:
*Let Freedom reign. The Sun never set on so glorious a Human Achievement.*

Thanks for sharing! <3

Well, I think this song is fantastic. I honestly think that assholes like Kanye West and Flo Rida have completely missed the point of rap. Rap was originally created as a form of expression against the injustices and hard times of the black community. Rap is supposed to have strong messages, not talk about hoes and money. Also, a true musician respects every genre of music. Just because Within Temptation worked with a rapper it doesn't mean they turned to crap, it means they're mature enough to look beyond from what they know and went out of their comfort zone. I admire that from them. They're not the only ones either. A lot of rock and metal artists have done it, including Paul McCartney from The Beatles. If you guys think that being a metalhead means dissing everything else and being elitists about your genre, then you're just as bad as Kanye.

I wonder what Xzibit's reaction was when they contacted him to make a guest appearance. and did he pimp their ride

Why do so many complain about the mix between Metal and Rap? It sounds awesome and why can´t Metal bands use rap in their songs? Metal has so many genres and so many different bands. The band Hed P.E. use metal and rap for their music. The Nu-Metal band Linkin Park do it too. Their are more bands like them who already did that, so what's the fu***** problem?

Her voice is just unbelievable, everytime I think she can't get any better she tops herself again.  Normally I can't stand Hip Hop stuff, but dang if they don't make it work here.  Love the contrast between her angelic voice and his tough and rough street voice.  This band is so creative it's amazing after all these years to just keep knocking out great songs to listen to and get pumped up for.  Wish so much they would get more respect in America.  Don't want to have to wait another 7 years for them.

I love all the haters for Xzibit's part in this song.  I actually think it's a welcome addition; it really drives the song, with Sharon's amazing vocals overlaying his deep voice.  Also I think the important part of this song is the actual message, which is reflected in the video itself so all in all I think this was a masterfully done collaboration between two genres that most narrow minded people don't think belong together.  This song is fantastic.  There's no need to bash it just because you might be someone who doesn't care for rap as a genre.  I don't really like rap but I think in this song it was great.

The rap part actually blended in well with the song.

And We Run, along with Paradise, are the best songs on the album. I don't get why people say that WT became a pop rock band, just because they experimented with different genres. Metal and rap are completely different music genres and WT with Xzibit achieved to combine them perfectly in a very meaningful song.
