Within Temptation – ‘Utopia’ (lyrics):
The burning desire to live and roam free
It shines in the dark and it grows within me
You're holding my hand but you don't understand
So where I am going, you won't be in the end
I'm dreamin' in colours, of getting the chance
Dreamin' of trying the perfect romance
The search of the door to open your mind
In search of the cure of mankind
Help us we're drowning
So close up inside
Why does it rain, rain, rain down on Utopia?
Why does it have to kill the ideal of who we are?
Why does it rain, rain, rain down on Utopia?
How will the lights die down, telling us who we are?
I'm searching for answers not given for free
They're hurting inside, is there life within me?
You're holding my hand but you don't understand
You're taking the road all alone in the end
I'm dreamin' in colours, no boundaries are there
I'm dreamin' the dream we all seem to share
In search of the door to open your mind
In search of the cure of mankind
Help us we're drowning
So close up inside
Why does it rain, rain, rain down on Utopia?
Why does it have to kill the ideal of who we are?
Why does it rain, rain, rain down on Utopia?
How will the lights die down, telling us who we are?
Why does it rain, rain, rain down on Utopia?
Why does it have to kill the ideal of who we are?
Why does it rain, rain, rain down on Utopia?
How will the lights die down, telling us who we are?
Why does it rain?

9This is how God probably feels watching his children.
4I have two theories of why this man only could help the boy. He is an angel of sort, but he cannot interfere with people's decisions. Even if they violate somebody. But this boy however wouldn't choose to get run over by the car, nor the driver, so he could stop that. Second is, that he has predicted the potential accident to the boy, and couldn't make time to interact with what happened on the way. He needed to be at this place in the right moment.
54Many years and this song is still so accurate and powerful. Amazing lyrics, incredible vocals and music that leaves goosebumps on whole body. The masterpiece.
57It's 2021, and still the most beautiful song I've ever listened to. 🌟
249Still listening in 2020...
137We continue "searching the cure of menkind"

5 years... And I still remember lyrics ❤
124beautiful song. Sharon's voice again gives deepest emotions.
28WHY DOES IT RAIN RAIN RAIN DOWN ON UTOPIA?
80Wspaniała piosenka. Mogę jej słuchać godzinami.
53the video should actually be a movie called: an angels burden.
29Damn.. The story behind utopia is so enormous and took me long years to realize this.
3Czy tylko mi się wydaje, czy w 2009 powstawały jedne z najlepszych kawałków dziesięciolecia ?
60"I'm dreaming in colours of getting the chance
59Dreaming of tryn'a the perfect romance"
~ Forever Alone
this one was always my favourite, her voice just makes me speechless ♥
52this song (and the music video too) makes me cry every time I listen to it.
65The meaning is beautiful, the melody is magic.
Perfect choice for the music video concept.
thanks Within Temptation for all the emotions you gave and still giving to me in those 10 years
Tyle Polaków :D
266Piosenka cudna :)
Such an underrated band and song !!
219Tyle czasu szukać tej piosenki!
45I feel like that man is one of the angels which are sent down to observe the behaviour of mankind... but what he saw was tearing his heart apart... :(
2I believe this man is representing someone that is coming from an utopic world, and when he gets to our world, as a shadow, he undestands that the selfishness, the cruelty is all around us and nobody can see what realy mather. The dreams are repleaced by our desire of being better than others, have more tahn them, and we forget that it makes us a lot less tahn what we could become. Only the child is capable of sseing the real truth, in a world corrupted by the greed.
10He represents god, walking through his 'garden' (utopia)
40Facts:
11Within Temptation has the best lyrics
It combines perfectly with its scenarios
Sharon has the best female voice in the world
Thubms up if you agree with me
