Just saw a girl in the subway, in Amsterdam, wearing a tshirt from this band.
Remembering that 20 years ago the song " My Immortal" was playing at the funeral of my former mother in law, she always had been kind to me.
She that somewhere around in her 80.
I walked up to the girl and told her this and she told me that she just visit the concert from the band. They performed on the 09-22-2026 in the Ziggo Dome, in Amsterdam🙂

Two Days ago, after being a fan for over 20years now, i was on my first Evanescence concert EVER! It took me this long to overcome my fear of huge crowds and finding a person who would go with me to a concert from them. And i was so overwhelmed when the second to last song was My Immortal, with Amy playing the piano...it was such an incredible experience... never tought to see her live. Thank you Evanescence and to all of you Evanescence-Fans out there: I wish I’d ​​had a few people like you in my life.. Love you all <3

I literally can’t keep this secret for another second. When this song came out I was in and out of jail, addicted, and homeless. Now I have a husband, home and good job. This song and “Clover Cage - Faith In The Fire” are the two songs that helped me get through my depression. I just want people to know things do get better. We are in this together. :) we are going to live better lives

The meaning of this song lies in a person who lost someone so close to her that he was her entire life. Her world. Her emotional pillow. She depended on him for her sanity and even her life itself was never the same since losing him. Even after he has gone, he remains such a important part of her world that time can never erase the memories of the one she thinks off. She recalls holding his hand through all of the years and he stills haunts her long after he’s gone. As the song progressed she realizes and comes to terms he would never really leave as a huge chuck of her life and memories consisted of him. To forget this person would be to forget her own life and happiness she has shared with this man.
